I.N.S.P.I.R.E.D!!

Yes. Inspired, that's what i am. After 3 days and 2 nights of the CUCMS leadership camp, i, have learnt and realized a few very valuable and inspiring lessons.

I have learnt that there are many types of leaders in the world,and...it is NOT impossible to achieve an equal balance in becoming all of them.

There are leaders who choose to be leaders, and there are also leaders that are chosen by others.
Which one is better? Neither. I would say the best leader is a leader that could be both at the same time.



Leaders by choice, are people that initiates willingly without any external force, but mostly they stood by the spirit of volunteerism. In any circumstances, they will always lead well and are very dependable on. One, as a follower need not worry on the completion of a task as it will most likely be done before hand. BUT, a leader is also one that can bring out the outmost potential of leadership in it's followers. If the leader controls and does not give the chance to it's followers to contribute even when the followers would gladly not too, then the leader has failed to lead by the incapability of influencing the followers in wanting to take charge. These leaders may find trouble in finding loyal and commited followers but after some time, the followers may or may not learn and adapt to the way of leading. If they do, then they may leave a resonating impact on the others as a TEAM!



Whereas, leaders that are chosen usually have no problems in finding followers. The followers are their human assets but the main question is, can the leader get the engine started to move forward? One may have hundreds and thousands of followers waiting for commands, but they may be left like robots just waiting for orders if the leader hesitates of it's own capability.
But then again, these may just be false if the leader is actually a silent leader. Some may lead well, but they lead in disguise. They are those that usually sits at the back row, studying others and reflect on their current situation. These leaders are quick at learning and adjusting to solve a predicament.

Those were the type of leaders that i've noticed during my camping trip, but I'm sure that i only saw it at a small scale of students. Leadership capabilities are never static. Whichever type of leader you may be, there is always space to learn and to grow.



Better still, aim for the balance of both sides and you may one day be a leader that has a strong and powerful influence on others.
