I smell something FISHY!!

While i was doing my regular blog browsing sessions, i stumbled upon this blog which i find very interesting with his unique style of writing. I could so tell that he'd be a much more interesting guy in person.

Anyhow, there was this one post of his that really moved me. It has been awhile since i last came across such a meaningful article online, magazines or any other mediums for that matter.

As cliche' as it sounds, it was about love... gosh, looking at my blog title, u should be expecting this post coming already..

So, he said something along these lines:

Love is not all about poetries, chocolates and flowers...
but it is the thoughtful mundane routine that is done to make your loved one happy.

And so, it was about his dad whom had this weekly routine of buying fish for his wife to cook. I know, you guys may think why fish for love? haha..the author is a chicken person by the way..

Every Saturday mornings he would rise up and head to the morning market alone without being told to do so by his wife. All he needed to know was what his wife wants to cook for that day, and he'll do all the shopping.

One early morning, as the author had forcefully volunteered( I'm quoting him) to follow his dad to the market, he did not learn a single bit about fish which his dad had constantly been feeding him with.. His dad said to him that how is he gonna marry someone if he doesn't know how to buy a good fish? and as predicted, he did take it lightly and forgot all about the fish info inputs earlier on..

Little did he know that his dad had more planned for him for their return from the market.
He might have probably been dreaming of catching back up with his sleep, but

NOoooo.....

His dad made him listen and help him clean the gooeeyy, smelly market fish pulak..

Not only did his dad go and buy the fish at the smelly market on his weekend morning (where he could have resorted to just stay in bed), but he did all the dirty work of cleaning the fish up so that all his wife had to do was to just cook the fish for the family.

His dad may or may not have said all the mushy i love you-s, but his actions did shout it all more than words could. The best part is, it is not just a 1 day thing. It is his routine.. It's continuous. It's his constant flow of love....

Years later did the author realize what his dad unintendedly wanted to show him was his earnest love for his wife....

..and the author still remains a chicken person as he never understood the need of susah-susah clean the fish..

Which reminds me so much of my dad... He would do the grocery shopping with his girls on the weekends and if he sees something then he would call my mom if she wants it or he would say something like,' tanya mak engkau, dia nak tak?' that kind of thing...

Even for weddings, dinners, functions, usually the men and ladies would help themselves on the food served, but my dad will take all my mom's favourites for her so that she wouldn't have to move about so much with the heels on. All she had to do was sit, loook pretty and eat!!

In whatever thing that my dad does, he will always ingat my mom..makan pun, before we piranhas finish eating, he would say 'eh , mak eng-kau dah rasa belum?' If she is upstairs, he would call her down or bring it up for her to eat...even if dah tengah-tengah malam and we girls pun dah tidur, he would wake us up to eat the tapau-ed food he bought..

HERE: is the link of the blog i was talking about. He had described it in a better way of course.Funny guy:)
